Inner Child Healing UK – Nurture Your Inner Child with Happy Heads
Childhood is the foundation of your mental health and wellbeing. It's this time in your life that forms a blueprint for who you believe you are and how you see the world around you.
During this significant time in brain development, your nervous system is learning how to adapt to stress and the world around you and those coping mechanisms, stress responses and limiting beliefs are often carried into adulthood.
Why is Inner Child Healing Important?
Inner child healing is important because as adults we often react to the present moment as if we are stuck in our past. Whether it’s in your relationship, as a parent, in the workplace, with friends or within your family dynamic - when you have a strong emotional reaction to something, your inner child might be feeling triggered (abandoned, unsafe, unloved, scared, not good enough, rejected).
Inner child healing holds the key to reducing anxiety, overcoming your limiting beliefs, preventing burnout, increasing your self belief, releasing your fears, processing anger, healing from trauma, loving yourself wholeheartedly and finally living a life that is aligned to who you truly are at your core.
Ready to heal and recconect with your inner child?
What is Inner Child Work?
The psychologist Carl Jung is most commonly considered the first to have coined the term "inner child". Since then many psychologists, healers, teachers and practitioners have used this term to help people understand and heal a very important part of who we are.
Inner child work is the process of acknowledging, reconnecting and nurturing the younger part of yourself shaped by childhood experience, recognising unresolved emotions, unmet needs, painful experiences and patterns that still influence your responses today.
Your inner child lives on in your subconscious and has been picking up messages from the outside world since before they could even communicate. A wounded inner child can show up in adulthood as anxiety, self-doubt, fear, people-pleasing, big emotional reactions, feeling unloveable, unable to set healthy boundaries or feeling like you’re “not enough.”
At its heart, inner child healing is about giving yourself the love, care, and safety you may have needed back then so that you can live with more freedom, joy, and confidence now.
Why does Inner Child Healing Matter?
By acknowledging, nurturing, and supporting your inner child, you can:
Release patterns of pain, fear, or self-criticism that no longer serve you.
Understand your present day triggers, discover the routes that go back to childhood and safely process your core memories
Develop a greater sense of self-compassion and loving kindness towards yourself
Overcome your limiting beliefs, finally giving them back to the person or situation that gave them to during childhood.
Process and heal past experiences that continue to shape how you think, feel, and react today.
Create healthier relationships - with yourself and with others.
Rebuild your confidence and self worth so that you can come back home to your true authentic self
Integrate your adult self with your inner child to feel fully whole
Who Benefits from Inner Child Healing?
Anyone who experienced childhood trauma. It’s important to never minimise your past and always look at it from a child’s perspective. A parent who never told a child they love them can still be viewed as a trauma
People struggling with burnout. Unprocessed wounds from our past can be carried into adulthood and can be one of the reasons you might be burning out.
If you’re struggling with anxiety. Your anxiety triggers will often have routes that go back to childhood. You’re triggers are there for a reason.
Anyone feeling stuck. A wounded inner child can prevent us from moving forward in life. Healing them will help to set you free.
People feeling depressed. Your childhood experience has a significant influence on whether you will develop depression in adulthood.
If you’re struggling with low confidence or self worth. A child who never felt good enough becomes an adult who struggles to believe in themselves
Adults who have experienced trauma - our trauma responses were created in childhood.

Does this replace therapy? Tapping is a form of therapy and a very gentle and effective trauma therapy, which is why it’s the perfect tool for inner child healing.
What if I find sharing difficult? That’s totally ok and normal. There are many different ways we can nurture your inner child without going into any details of a core memory. I’ve worked with many clients in this way and they still have great results.
Do I need prior experience with self-work? None whatsoever. In fact no experience can sometimes be beneficial. All you need is an open mind and a desire to heal your inner child.
Are sessions on-line or in person? All sessions are done online via Zoom
